A COMPOSITE ARCHERY BOW

BRIEF: Produce the central frame component – the riser – in full composite. For decades, the best results were achieved by CNC aluminium risers.

CHALLENGE: To realize the first bow made in full composite. No one in the world of archery used a composite bow before Hoyt therefore we needed to overcome the market doubts and lead the belief in the new metal risers. Demonstrate the durability of the composite structure compared with the ductile metal one. To get the bow lighter. To increase its precision thanks to less deformation along the main axis.

Thanks to the ability and strength of our selected production partners, it has been possible to design, test and produce a product with really high specifications. We created a strong link between composite and metal inserts, maintaining a very high standard of quality.
One of the main benefits of the composite material is the absolute freedom of shape it allows. Thanks to this, it has been possible to deliver breakthrough solutions and different shapes for the riser. This allows us to play with the laws of physics and optimise the inertia and ratio between weight / performance / stiffness. The final shape is complex but innovative, unconventional, and performs incredibly.
